Lucky Bison Coffee beginnings

In 2005, Nat Long (Lucky Bison Coffee founder) stumbled into the coffee scene almost by accident. A friend needed help with their new coffee shop, and Nat lent a hand without much thought. Coffee was just a job, nothing more. But as he worked, from brewing to roasting, something changed.

Over the next 15 years, Nat became a coffee connoisseur, learning every aspect of the trade. From perfecting the pour to crafting the ideal roast, he lived and breathed coffee.

But then in 2020, the pandemic hit, and like most restaurant and hospitality workers, Nat found himself without a job.

Rather than dwell on the setback, Nat saw it as an opportunity… With his love for coffee and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit, he reached out to friends with a simple question: “If I roast the beans, will you buy them?” The answer was a resounding yes.

As Nat prepared to deliver his first batch of roasted beans, he stumbled upon an old sketch—a bison he’d drawn years ago. Something about it felt right. In a spur-of-the-moment decision, Nat made the bison the face of his new venture.

And just like that, Lucky Bison Coffee was born—a testament to Nat’s passion, perseverance, and the spirit of adventure that drives him. Welcome to Lucky Bison Coffee—where every cup tells a story, and every sip is a taste of Nat’s journey.
